Off the Grid Permaculture Retreat Center
We are an eco-conscious permaculture project on an unknown and empty beach between Puerto Escondido and Lagunas De Chacahua, just 100 meters from the beach and right around the corner from the surf break and rustic beach restaurants. In the morning you’ll only hear the birds and at night only hear the crashing waves. We are far away from the touristic zone, a place where you can get inspired, relax and think immersed in nature. Perfect place to host your retreat or event and have everybody focused on the same goal. New Ruins is an experience of a perfectly balanced world, where you consume only what you need. Our philosophies are represented in our structures and systems, and will provide the perfect canvas to present your art.

Yoga Shala
Perched high above the rocks with a view of sunrise and sunset, makes you feel like you are in a birds nest. Its large 60M2 area accommodates 20 yoga practitioners (no squeezing in). Its open format makes it useful for any event.
Pool
Gorgeous pool hidden in nature with ocean view. Refreshing dip after yoga or chilling in hanging chairs and hammocks.
Nature Trails and Mediation Garden
A short hike to the top of the hill leads you to 2 hectares of trails. Huge Cactus the size of a 3 story building. Inspiring views of the Laguna, mountains, 3 beaches, ocean and Roca Blanca Island in the bay. Follow the symbols to arrive at the cactus and crystals mediation garden.
Virgin Beach
We are in a unique position to have sunrises and sunsets. Practically have the entire beach to yourself. No other houses or hotels close by gives the impression that the virgin beach is infinite. A short walk or bike ride to Roca Blanca for swimming, surfing or local seafood in a beach palapa.

Lagunas De Chacahua National Park
A national park and bird lovers paradise. Two lagoons both with exits to the ocean and a channel connection them, forming a beach island between the lagoons and ocean. You take a boat thru a mazy of mangrove trees passing thru both lagoons. Its a migratory bird destination, meaning tons of birds come here, with certain species living full time, and others peaking in certain times of the year. Arrive to the far side of the island and hang out for the day. Premier surfing spot, thats also great for swimming.

Beautiful secluded place by the beach, totally off-grid and ecological. A space to retreat, rest, get inspired and live in an integrated way with Nature !
This place is epic! You can’t imagine such a perfect experience. One min walk to a very quiet and unbelievable beach – it’s the best spot for sunset, the moon rise and a million of stars. Nico is here to oppose you some activities like a fire camp or a special dinner on the beach. And whales at the sunset. The houses is the perfect size, with a good aeration. You feel very cozy the decoration is very good looking. And home made. The pool is delicious, very fresh and with lot of spot to relax of course you have the see view :). And peacock visite or different beautiful bird. This place is a very good introduction to permaculture and sustainability houses and lifestyle. You only use what you need.
New Ruins is the perfect spot to get in touch with nature, relax and enjoy the stars, the moon, all the sounds from the jungle, the sea. Many activities to do around the area, Chacahua lagoon, luminescence swim at night, aguas termales, the beach is 5 min walking, etc. and Puerto Escondido is 40 min away. The room was nice and clean, bed pretty comfortable, i love the open shower!! Nic was awesome, very helpful and easy to communicate with. Thanks for a great time Nic. Hasta la próxima!
